Hear the Music

Community Resource

The Florida Philharmonic Orchestra is a vital community resource presenting critically acclaimed performances and offering educational enrichment to our young people year after year. The Orchestra is a significant cultural asset contributing to South Florida's growing repute as a major metropolitan region and center of artistic excellence.
The FPO was created in 1985 through a merger of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony and the Boca Raton Symphony. Under the leadership of renowned music director James Judd, the Philharmonic has attained a level of music making surpassing that of many regional orchestras that boast of far greater financial resources and longer histories.

Community Support
Generous contributions from lovers of fine classical music fuel the Florida Philharmonic's artistic growth. Indeed, contributions are essential to the Orchestra's survival as a viable cultural resource. Ticket revenues cover only about one third of what it costs to present the Philharmonic's concerts. Gifts from generous individuals, businesses, and foundations must make up the difference.
Your gift to the Philharmonic really counts. Please enclose a tax-deductible contribution with your season subscription order. Be as generous as you can. Your gift is an investment in fine music and in our community.

Thank you for your support as a subscriber and as a contributor.

The Sound of Excellence
The Florida Philharmonic is about to release a limited-edition CD recording of highlights from memorable Philharmonic performances at our various venue homes over past seasons. This Philharmonic sampler will not be available for sale anywhere. It will be provided as a unique benefit to those who contribute $1,000 or more to the Philharmonic during the next year.

How to Contribute

Giving to Endowment
The Philharmonic must increase its endowment in order to ensure its financial stability. Your generous endowment gift will benefit the Philharmonic for many years to come. This is a very good time to give. This year the Harcourt M. and Virginia W. Sylvester Foundation will give the Orchestra one dollar for each four dollars you contribute. Call us if you would like more information on endowment or planned giving opportunities.

Corporate Support Benefits
Businesses that contribute $10,000 or more to the Philharmonic can receive benefit packages tailored specially to meet their needs.

For more information on ways of giving and benefits, please call your local Philharmonic Office:

All or part of your gift is tax-deductible as provided by law. A copy of the official registration and financial information may be obtained from the division of consumer services by calling toll-free within the state.
